Our story

Ordinary parents wanting to make an extraordinary difference.

Meet us

Hi, weโ€™re Francesca and Guillaume - founders of Miji, and parents to two brave, curious, sensitive kids.

In 2024, we made a big leap. We left behind stable, comfortable (and well paid!) jobs to follow a dream - one rooted in freedom, intention, and personal growth. We did it for ourselves, and for our family. Weโ€™re no strangers to challenges, as we truly believe life is too short to spend wonderingย what if.

With backgrounds in logistics, leadership, and product design, we had the skills - but more importantly, we had the heart to create something meaningful.

And so our journey began...

Bloom Cards

The concept of Bloom Cards was born in a coffee shop, after weeks of searching for tools to support our childrenโ€™s inner growth. The idea for our signature three-card system was inspired by a simple wooden board and shaped by our personal journey with Montessori education.

Designing the folders took time - but weโ€™re so happy with how they turned out.

While the original idea has evolved, the core intention remains the same: to offer a simple, engaging tool that helps kids learn about themselves, while also supporting parents like us - exhausted, hopeful, and always wanting the very best for our children.

Why Miji

We deeply value freedom of choice and time, and weโ€™re very aware of the uncertain future that lies ahead. Our love for Japan - a country rooted in slowness, patience, calm, and balance - combined with our desire to build a life of personal freedom, led us to merge two beautiful Japanese words:

Miraiย = Future
Jiyลซย = Freedom

MIJIย was born from this fusion, with a vision to create products that guide both children and adults toward a life of future freedom. Because to us, a life well lived is one filled with love, compassion, and independence - whatever shape or shade that may take for you.
