So how did I get him there?

I stopped jumping in every time he put himself down.

My words mattered. But I wanted him to notice the good in himself, and be the one to say it.

That's why we started using the Self Identity cards in Bloom Cards. Some cards teach him something about who he is. Some are activities, like the "This is me" poster now taped by his bed. And some are affirmations he says out loud. "I am talented, intelligent, and capable.

A month later, the words came from him.

Same drawing. A different way of seeing it.

It was never just about the drawing

Kids can turn one moment into a verdict on who they are: someone else's work looks better, something doesn't go their way, and suddenly, "I'm not good enough."

Bloom Cards give kids a simple way to notice their strengths, name what makes them unique, and speak about themselves more kindly.

A few minutes a day, until seeing the good in themselves becomes the habit.

These have been really great to use with my 6-year-old who has been struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, and negative self-talk.

I gifted these to my daughter to help with her anxiety. We’ve been enjoying them together, and I can already see her growing more confident using them on her own.
